Football Pitch Inauguration and End of Year Music Concert

The end of the academic year always has special activities.

In the afternoon of Tuesday 5th June, the official inauguration of the new sports facilities at Agora Sant Cugat International School were held in the presence of different people from the world of sport: Mr. Francesc Folguera, representing the Catalan Football Federation, Mr. Santi Siquier, Territorial Sports Head of Barcelona, Mr. Xavier Tizón, Sant Cugat del Vallès Sports Manager, Mr. Francesc Artiga, representative from Barcelona Football Club and Mr. Genís Vera, representative from Espanyol Football Club. The NACE Centres General Director, Mrs Mª Pilar González; Agora Sant Cugat International School Director, Mr. Vicenç Gandol; the Director of Agora Patufet Infant School, Mrs Sònia Sánchez; the Director of Agora International School Barcelona, Mr. Ignasi Bau and the President of the Agora Sant Cugat International School AMPA, Mrs Laura Barnadas, were also present.

The inauguration was celebrated with different football matches between the football teams from the different clubs. The official act began with a parade which presented all the teams and was followed by speeches from several of the special guests who addressed both players and spectators. To end the act there was a quadrangular tournament between the Cadet teams of Agora Sant Cugat International School, Barcelona Football Club, Espanyol Football Club and Josep Mª Jané Athletic Club.


On Wednesday 6th June the IV Agora Sant Cugat International School Orchestra and Band Concert took place in the Sant Cugat Monastery. Under the direction of Manal Salas, the orchestra played music by Nelson, Schubert and Mendelssohn inside the Church. Then outside in the fresh air, and under the direction of Jordi Díaz, the band played to everyone music by Joplin, Mancini, Brown and even a piece by the Beatles. All those who attended enjoyed the opportunity to hear this magnificent concert which every year seems to get better.
